Moscow, September 1, 2015. — Nikolay Nikiforov, Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications, visited Group-IB specializing in prevention and investigation of cybercrimes and frauds in IT sphere. Nikolay Nikiforov and head of the company discussed current situation on data protection market and systems of global information security. Representatives of Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) also took part in the meeting.
Minister got acquainted with systems and products, including three systems on protection from modern cyber threats and two systems on protection of intellectual property in Internet. Nikolay Nikiforov also examined laboratories of digital forensics, department on cyber intelligence service and monitoring center.
“Amount of cyber attacks and their complexity are growing,” said Nikolay Nikiforov, “Today we are facing such threats as loss of data privacy, including financial data, frauds with the use of information technologies, inability to perform actions required for operating, misrepresentation of information, required for decision making. That’s why the Government pays special attention to increasing the level of protection technologies. Russian cyber security systems will help to eliminate dissemination of attacks and block possibilities for new cyber threats.”
The Minister also noted that state, commercial and private information is protected in the Russian Federation due to high quality of Russian data security facilities and its ability to prevent potential threats.
Cyber security facilities and cyber intelligence service of Group-IB were previously presented to Vladimir Putin on IT section of National Youth Forum Territory of senses in Klyazma” in July 2015.
