Moscow, October 2, 2015. — Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation reports that e-government services and partial refusal from paper document flow helped to save 212.2 thousand square meters of forest starting from the beginning of 2015. This square is equal to 29 football fields or 334 country cottage areas of six acres.
14 million paperless applications were handled via the Unified Public Services Portal (UPSP) during three quarters of 2015. Nearly five paper sheets are spend on one application. Introduction of e-government services helped to save more than 70 million paper sheets and 8.5 thousand trees.
